The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) has issued a notice regarding A Randomized Trial of Unruptured Brain Arteriovenous Malformations (ARUBA) clinical trial. Enrollment into the trial was stopped at the recommendation of the study’s Data and Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB) because the event rate in the intervention group was significantly higher than in the medical management group.
The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) is a not-for-profit organization that assists 24 approved medical specialty boards in the development and use of standards in the ongoing evaluation and certification of physicians. ABMS, recognized as the “gold standard” in physician certification, believes higher standards for physicians means better care for patients.
